We are Britest Limited, a not-for-profit, membership-based company, established to invent, develop, promote and disseminate business processes, tools and techniques to improve the way chemical and biochemical and associated processes are designed, developed and implemented. Britest Limited is a private company limited by guarantee without share capital (Company Number 04185316). Our registered address is 9400 Garsington Road, Oxford Business Park, Oxford, OX4 2HN.

We obtain information about you when you use our website, when you contact us about products and services, use the website to access information, or if you register to receive our newsletters.

We will only hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us.

We initially ask you to opt in to receive direct marketing communications from us about our products, services, and innovation activities in the form on which we collect your information, and we always provide links to change this preference in our electronic communications.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you. We may charge a £10 administrative fee for information requests to cover our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.

Security precautions in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information

Britest does not currently handle ‘sensitive’ personal data (such as credit or debit card details, or medical records). ‘Non-sensitive’ details (your email address etc.) are transmitted over the Internet using the HTTPS protocol for secure, encrypted network communication, Please note however that cross-internet transmission can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems. Where we have given (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our websites, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

16 or Under

Britest Limited’s products and services are aimed solely towards corporate clients, and we only accept sign-ups from individuals with validated e-mail accounts from recognised organisational domains. We are concerned to protect the privacy of children aged 16 or under. If you are aged 16 or under‚ you should not attempt to create an account or otherwise provide us with personal information, and should we become aware that such information has been provided we will take immediate steps to remove it from our database and disable any account created with it.

Transferring your information outside of Europe

As part of the services offered to you through this website, the information which you provide to us may be transferred to countries outside the European Union (“EU”). By way of example, this may happen if any of our servers are from time to time located in a country outside of the EU. These countries may not have similar data protection laws to the UK. Website monitoring

We routinely monitor our web site using proprietary tools provided by our service provider Duo Design Limited to gather usage statistics to improves our insight of member interests and behaviours in order to improve our content and service provision. The information collected does not include bank details or any sensitive personal data. Data collected in this way is for Britest Limited’s internal use only. The information collected is used to improve our website usability and is stored and used for aggregated and statistical reporting.
