Tools and Methodologies Update
Our new Members' Extranet site is your dedicated resource centre for all the latest information on the use of Britest tools, methodologies and enablers.
Each Britest tool and methodology has a dedicated page explaining its purpose, information needs, guidance for use in extracting value - as well as supporting documents and templates where these are available.
During 2012, we will be adding member case studies demonstrating the use of the tools and methodologies in specific situations. If members have any novel uses of the tools to share please contact mark.talford@britest.co.uk. Remember that any case studies shared count as a members' 'in-kind' contribution.
Coming soon:
- Choice of Phase Strategy (CoPS) – see below.
- Plant Cleaning – a methodology for using Britest tools to address plant cleaning issues
- A Member Case Study highlighting use of Britest tools and methodologies for identifying whole process flowsheet options.
PILLS project nears completion
As the EU FP7 PILLS (Process Intensification of Liquid-Liquid reaction Systems) project nears completion, Britest is busy finalising a suite of e-learning modules which will be available for dissemination from March 22 onwards.
During the projects 3-year duration, Britest has led a programme of work on generic methodological development. Outputs from this will be a Choice of Phase Strategy (CoPS) methodology and checklists to help process development teams decide whether the use of intensified, structured equipment could give benefits for a process under development.
A final dissemination event for the project will be held in Brussels on March 22, 2012. Places will be limited so if you wish to attend please contact Jeremy.double@britest.co.uk as soon as possible.
F3 Factory Interest Group Meeting
Over 50 representatives from leading European industrial and academic organisations came together in November to participate in the 2nd annual F3 Factory Interest Group Meeting.
Held at the newly opened INVITE Research Center in Leverkusen, the event provided a timely opportunity to showcase recent developments in the F3 Factory and, in particular, the new flexible, modular production concepts being developed within the project.
If you wish to be kept informed of developments within the F3 Factory project, receive the annual Newsletter, or attend future Interest Group meetings, please send your contact details to: donna.rawson@britest.co.uk
